Norad announces collaboration with Center for Global Development
The nature of development challenges has exposed a shift in the development paradigm. These challenges, in particular climate change and pandemics, require global solutions. Different motivations and approaches mean that there is a growing need for peer learning and analysis for effective practice in this changing global context. Norad believes there is a need to bring leaders and senior policy makers from development agencies together in a safe and independent space for critical learning based on practical experience, underpinned by robust evidence ideas and tools to stimulate debate on the future of development cooperations and agencies.
To achieve this, Norad has entered into an agreement with Center for Global Development Europe. The aim of the agreement is to reduce global poverty and improve lives through innovative economic research to ensure better policy and practice. In this work, Center for Global Development will collaborate with knowledge providers from Asia, Latin-America and Africa to ensure a better understanding from a global context. In addition, Norad has agreed to co-host the Development Leaders Conference for 2023 and 2024 together with Center for Global Development. To ensure a global perspective, Norad and Center for Global Development will collaborate with a third co-host with a dual role as a development cooperation donor and receiver for the planning and implementation of the Development Leaders Conference.
